Cracked Manifold

More on the Honda Civic problem. We most definitely have a crack in the exhaust manifold. It's very easy to remove the cover and see the crack.

About getting it taken care of... Before Honda USA will even consider fixing it for us, the vehicle must be visually inspected by the dealer. We got that taken care of today. The dealer was nice, but removing the manifold cover on a HOT engine was a pain! More on Honda USA later...

Honda Problem

So I think I've figured out what the tap-tap-tapping is on my wife's Honda. She has a '98 civic that started to make a little noise when first starting to drive. It appears that civics have a problem with a cracked exhaust manifold. You should be able to visually check for it by removing the manifold cover. Just be careful to not disturb the oxygen sensor, or you'll have to have someone reset the check engine light.
See cartrackers for more info on the problem

Welcome!

Welcome to my blog. I will be updating the site at (hopefully) regular intervals. I am currently a Master's student at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, California. My research interests cover many topics. The last 6 months have been spent researching workflow and business process management. I am also considering some research in other areas of computer science. Happy blogging!
